Benchyard Copyright and Complaints Policy
Version: 0.2 | Last updated: October 10, 2026
Benchyard respects intellectual-property rights and reviews substantiated complaints about content or conduct on the Service. Send reports to hello@benchyard.com, using "Copyright complaint," "Abuse report," or "Privacy request" in the subject as appropriate.
1. Reporting infringement
A copyright complaint should include:
- Your name and contact details, and whether you own the rights or are authorized to act for the owner.
- Identification of the protected work and the right you believe has been infringed.
- Enough information to locate the material, such as a URL or resource identifier and relevant time. Do not obtain unauthorized access to collect evidence.
- Why you believe the use is unauthorized, taking account of licenses and applicable exceptions.
- A statement that the report is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and your physical or electronic signature.
For a trademark or other rights complaint, identify the relevant right, jurisdiction, material, and supporting facts. For abuse or security reports, explain the conduct and its impact. Do not send passwords, private keys, or unnecessary personal information.
2. Review and response
We may request clarification, investigate relevant material, preserve evidence where justified, and restrict or remove content or access where appropriate. A report does not by itself establish infringement. We consider relevant permissions and legal exceptions and limit content access to what is needed for the review.
Where lawful and appropriate, we notify the affected user and explain the action. We may share relevant parts of a complaint, including the reporter's contact information, so the user can respond. Tell us about a specific confidentiality or safety concern when reporting; we cannot guarantee anonymity where disclosure is necessary or legally required.
3. Requests for reconsideration
If you believe material or access was restricted by mistake, contact hello@benchyard.com with the subject "Complaint appeal." Identify the action, explain your authority to use the material, and provide relevant evidence. We will review the available information and communicate the result where permitted.
We may restore access after resolving a mistake, but a separate lawful reason for restriction may remain. We may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and take proportionate action on other substantiated violations under the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Statutory procedures
This page provides a general complaint and review channel. It does not identify a registered United States DMCA agent or represent that Benchyard has qualified for a statutory safe harbor. Mandatory notice, court-order, and other legal procedures continue to apply where applicable; this policy does not replace them or limit anyone's legal rights.
